The greatly talked about highly anticipated pre-teen hormonal syndrome has knocked read burst through my front door.
With it came friends “Mr. moody and Lil’ sensitive” which have never been over before.
Truth be told I’d love to slam the door and ignore them all.
And now imagine this, both momma and daddy are completely clueless as to how to treat “them”.
It seems “they” are certain of the following:
- my friends are rude
- my teacher picks on me
- my brother and sister are mean to me
- oh just forget it..you don’t understand
- (and my all time NOT favorite) I should’nv been born.
And this is just a few issues my almost 12yr old is going through.
Talk about confusing..it’s worse now that I’m hearing him better.
However recently he calls me from school during lunch break and says: “mom I just need to talk and tell you what I’m feeling (insert a list of school problems) and I just don’t know what to do, what do I do with how I’m feeling?”
Here’s the only thing I knew to say..(praying quickly as I answered him) “ well I just don’t have any answers (*light bulb*) but I know who does..are you in a place I can pray with you?”
“Yes”
We had prayer right then..asking for HIS Spirit to take over.
Right afterwards he says: “thank you mom I really needed that, really I did.” (And I so needed to hear that!)
Praise God ~ He’s the “answer man”.

What a blessing that he reached out to you like that! I will say a prayer for him too.
God is good!
That was awesome!!!
Sis has been having hormonal stuff. She's not a crier and she'll suddenly burst into tears and tell me she doesn't know why but she hates feeling this way.
Man, puberty rots, eh?
It's such a blessing that he comes to you. What a blessing that you prayed right then and there...that's so important. You are a GREAT mom.
What a blessing that 1) he turns to you 2) he can call you from school 3) he has a mama that knows where to take him.
hugs,
GfG
