OK spill it..how many of you clip (ped) toenails weekly and/or pay (paid) attention to your children's feet? (oh put down your hands..I know I should too!)
So then it must be right after showers each night?
Maybe when you looked down to suddenly see nails that resemble claws?
Or when they are pulling them off with their teeth? ( didn't you?)
Mine never get that bad or my kids seriously..I am still tying their shoes.
Which means regular pedicures around here..lucky them.
However..yesterday morning when I got Sissy up and dressed I noticed on the bottom of her foot there was an ugly mad looking bump that had red streaks flaring up her heel..yikes?!
Applied YL oils and finished dressing for carpool.
Towards mid morning I looked again and this time decided to soak and poke..at a very unhappy little girl.
I did see something that resembled a splinter but couldn't get near enough to get it out.
This worried me ..due to the redness and puss that came out which didn't look like a good sign.
I'm sharing this with you as a warning.
Because it's about to be the "summer loving bare-foot sometimes flip flop wearing weather".
LOOk at your kids feet often..as you may prevent an infection like the on she has that ended up needing a doctors visit which required a numbing shot directly to the foot before he could slice and dig out an 3/8 inch thorn (that she never complained about!) served with 10 days of antibiotics to prevent any kind of lymph infection. Scary!
Sounds crazy..but so vital.
Thankful that my dh took her and endured all the emotional almost traumatic..episode.
She's a tigger ..bounced right in the door when she got back.. ready to go outside barefooted again..a constant battle.
Just be careful..that's all.

POOR GIRL!!!! I'm glad she was able to have it taken care of!
good thing daddy is such a good sport lol, poor sissy i am suprised she didn't complain i would have been howling ;)
hey thank god it was a thorn and you could have it removed........
Oh ouch! What a trooper she is! I'm a big fat chicken when it comes to needles. Glad she's better!
Thank God you found it when you did! And thanks for the advice.
Wow! I can't believe she didn't complain about it. That sounds like it was pretty nasty.
BLESS HER HEART!!! That sounds so painful. I dug a splinter out of my hand yesterday. I would rather have ALL of the splinters than have to poke and prod at my kids. They do not cooperate :(
