Yes..love can be painful

Four years ago this month my dh become certain of one thing.

He wanted to stop "producing" while he was still ahead.

After what seemed like two full years of pregnancy, how does that happen, you ask?

After a miscarriage (baby #2) 8wks later (Trooper) baby #3 was conceived and arrived 9mos later then 12wks after that conception of baby #4 (Sissy) now you do the math.  I'm tired just thinking about it!

So needless to say both of us feeling a bit overwhelmed to be going from a family of 3 to 5 in 18 months.

He then decided to do some research and learned that it was easier for a man to have a V-sec then for a women to go through child bearing then right afterwards a tube tying ceremony.

So after much discussion a consult appt. was made and then the date was set.

Valentines Day of 2005 is when the "snip" took place.

The timing of this made me realize all the more that he  endured the pain so I wouldn't have to.

Go ahead and say it: "awwwhhhh"

This "sacrifice" was for my sake and the sake of our families which was all the more heart warming even if I wish today I could have another..and another (somebody slap me!)

Then I had to waddle around and wait hand and foot on him while he was healing..(because you know they become babies when they are ill, right?) still I can remember every time I was about to complain or become disgruntled I would remember this ...

"he did it because he loves you.."

And then willingly carry his bag of frozen peas to him...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Please don't be jealous because my Valentine is so awesome or because we happen to be true romantics.. as it can be very very painful at times ;)
For instance this new "adventure" I'm about to take.
My consult is this afternoon and he keeps reminding me of the "sacrifice" he is making both financially and physically for me. HA! when it's all said and done he will be the beneficiary!
And it will have been my gift to him ;)
HAPPY  VALENTINES and may your Love be pain free!
I keep telling my husband that it's SO painless especially considering what we endure (childbirth, c-sections, pregnancy, menstruation), but he still cowers just thinking about it. We'll see. We aren't ready for the snip yet, but I'm hoping that he'll be prepared when the time comes!
I found your blog from the SWAK arnival, and I like your Valentine's posts! Yes, what pains our husbands must endure, and then we go and say, Oh, wouldn't it be nice to have one more...
I love my husband too.
When we first got married, we discussed how many kids we wanted, and what are we going to do when we get done having kids?
He said, without missing a beat, "I'll get a vasectomy." Umm what? Is it that easy?
"Are you sure?"
"Yep. You go through pregnancy and childbirth, so getting a vasectomy is the least I can do." Awwwww.
We have one kid now, and we're working on the second one. ;) We may be done after the second one, so in a year or two... snip snip! And it was all his idea! Awwww! :D
Logan did this for me also. Not on Valentines day, but he did it. I thought it was a very sweet thing also. :)
