Proverbs 6: 6-11 NLT
Take a lesson from the ants you lazybones.
Learn from their ways and become wise!Though they have no prince
Or governor or ruler to make them workThey labor hard all summer gathering food for the winter.
But you lazybones how long will you sleep?
When will you wake up?A little extra sleep a little more slumber a little folding of the hands to rest—
Then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit; scarcity will attack you like an armed robber.
Recently while I'm still in bed one morning my dh walks in to share this scripture he was reading for devotion. Try as he might to continue reading it without cracking up at the sight of whom he was reading it to.. he was having a hard time staying on track..needless to say I jumped out of bed.
What he did not know was that I had just read this very same scripture the night before in an article while he was asleep. You've heard it said GOD works in "mysterious ways" add obvious ways to that!
So I've made it my goal this New Years..to be like that of the "Ant" .
What's really funny is this, most of my adult life I've been called "Aunt Dawn" by almost every kid in our church family and even by Bunter's school friends..most whom just meet me ask this " are you their Aunt? Sure and yours to if you want me to be.."
So really why wouldn't I extend this also to the DHF ...if this is going to help me to remember my purpose in life I'll be HIS ANT also!

"I can do everything through him who gives me strength"

That's a great goal for the new year!
Very well-written!!!
Well said! It's hard some days for me where I'm on my feet chasing Pebbles all day. But, I should get up a little earlier most days.
Oh, you quoted a different version than the one My Sweetie just loves. It's his favorite verse to quote/shout to the kids:
Go to the ant, you sluggard!
Attend to his ways and be wise.
Hilarious.
I think my word for this year is "dilligence". Being fully devoted to the task at hand, (whatever your hand finds to do... and all that) and not running in a million directions. So this kind of applies to me too...
I loved this. And God meant for you to really take notice of that scripture!! It blesses my heart that your husband took the time to read it to you. AAWWWWW!
And I was always Miss Jennifer. That was my title at the Dance Studio for 6 years so TONS of children called me Miss Jennifer. Of course, I always liked it best when some would call me Momma. We are called to love those kids that need it, you know?
