Here's what I wanted to share in participation of
sincerely fro me to you -by KristenOK...so we live by a place that looks allot like this and we spend every summer in it, totally!
Today marks the first day of true "summertime fun" for us!
Getting out of the daily routine is good for both kids and mom...so what works for me is an all day out to play, in the water; at the park; fishing; bike riding (whatever you can reasonably do without going in debt.) Taking a picnic lunch while inviting friends who don't need an excuse to get out either!
Yes the gas is high and so will your blood pressure be also if you don't take those cute lil' monkeys rascals out every once in awhile!
Will update this with pix to show how the day went, and I'll even post how much it cost, you may just be surprised!

a very happy picnic-er, no I did not supply cake only fruit and some sugar-filled drinks a few pieces of candy...all right all right so I wanted a full days run out of them..so later they'd crash, so sue me!

This was a great start to our summer time fun! And for the past few summers it's been like this...so find some special place...make a date weekly and start a ritual like this!
COST:
A couple gallons of gas and picnic lunch $15.85 a sunburn for mom ouch! as she was only applying sunblock to her babies and forgot herself but every bit worth it for these memories!

That works for me too!
The river so becomes our friend during the summer. We can walk to one of our swimming spots. That makes it an option when we don't want to spend an arm and a leg in gas. Sounds like a fun day to me!!!! :)Heather S.
