Thursday

I didn't see it coming, but I'm glad it came!

At lunch today with both boys and baby girl, we had interesting discussion.

(To help you understand my excitement, I'll put the ages instead of names.)

4yr old: Momma...momma...

*I look at him*( an annoying phase he is in before he says anything)

4yr old: momma...momma, When is Jesus coming?

*me thinking as I dipped a chip in our favorite salsa -cheese dip "where is this coming from.." I have food on the brain?" however switching gears quickly I put on my "train up a child" hat as the savory lunch before me has to take a backseat.*

Me: well when He finishes His work in heaven then he will come back and get us...

4yr old: what's He doing?

Me: uhm..well He's building a very BIG house with allot of rooms. *sharing my excitement in this*

4yr old: does it have allot and allot and allot and allot of beds?

Me: yep..*never thought of that*

Then the other one pipes in.

9yr old: "well there's another reason that Jesus has not come back yet...you see the angels are going around for Him and seeing who is choosing Him and who chooses to do bad stuff. When all the angels report back then Jesus will come but right now He is waiting for everyone to make their choice and giving them a warning that He is coming soon.

Me:" So are you ready if He choose to come back today?"

9yr old: Yes, I'm ready.

4yr old:"I can't wait for Jesus to come, momma...momma...is it gonna be a long time like our house takes?" (another story)

Me:  "It could be and then again He may already be done and is making sure everyone is ready"

* they turn their attention back to the food before them. While momma is still amazed she had this conversation out of the blue *

That was to cool!

Get's better after lunch we went over to give a friend and her daughter a haircut, the subject of Faith came up and before I knew it we where talking about Christ soon return also, when I asked this, "If Jesus comes back right now  are you ready?...She reply's "I guess.."

* My thoughts on this*

You know my kids are ready, and they haven't even begin having all the hardships; heartaches; or trails infact they live a pretty sheltered life...why then aren't we as excited when we are soooo overly exposed, aren't we ready to move out of here?!

Seems like the older we are the harder we become  could this be why Jesus says this:

Matthew 18:3 (NIV)

"And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven."

And what about..."being or getting ready" why don't we like children get just how Simple it is to be ready?

1 John 5 1-5 (NIV)

"Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 5Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God."

To say the least it's refreshing to have HIM use your young ones to stir those sparks and cause you to understand His simple plans.

Hey it's that easy...No doubt I'm ready, ARE YOU?

so sweet! I am long for the Lord's return a little more with each passing day. I really hope He comes before I have to worry about my kids dating, etc! :) Your children are blessed to be in a home that teaches them the Truth!

That was such an awesome conversation! I love it when kids start conversations like this. They can speak the truth in such simple ways. :)
