Tuesday

cloudy with a chance of bad attitude

Knowing that all of South Texas was covered in rain due to hurricane "Alex".
Our families campout on the lake was not looking to be a fun filled holiday weekend
or even a dry one at that.

My dh had taken an extra day off for this event and the kids where looking forward to going to the lake.

I on the other hand was the least excited about it, truth be told the closer it got the more
I hoped it would be canceled.

I even thought about sending the family off w/out me in the event the weather did clear up.
For me camping is great, that is till bedtime..you know what I mean?

However because of the wet forecast there was a big possibility
that I wouldn't have to do without my sweet bed, whew!

And then it happened..

An opportunity to serve..lead..be a happy camper.

Honestly I don't know what came over me!

It was Friday late afternoon..we just spent the day celebrating my sons birthday in the big city.
Earlier that day it was decided we would go up in the morning on Saturday.
At least for the day and even if it was still raining.

When we got home I knew my dh was feeling a little frustrated that his parents and brothers family was already there and he wasn't..he was also a little apprehensive that the weather would be miserable and didn't know if he should push me to go through with it.

When we pulled up it wasn't raining..so I said "come on let's load up and go!"
Then right in the middle of it the rain started coming down..again.

As the hour passed by I could see how this was wearing his patience out..even the kids where getting upset.

I felt compelled yet again..to encourage and motivated everyone to just finish packing and get on the road..besides the weather will most likely be much better there.

And off we went..and it turned out just as I had said and prayed for.

Looking back at these few pix..it's funny how positive a trip it turned out to be..when one's attitude isn't clouded up.. ;)

Thankful for HIS blessings in my life!
For the ability to praise and call on HIM even
when I'm not particularly feeling like a happy camper!
