it's been a nice few days in my world...
Friday:
Spent the day at the Texas Living History Festival on lots of great exhibits and music for our enjoyment and of course BBQ Po-boys. (Have pix will post soon ;D)
After a long day out my mom and I went to the movies to see Nights in Rodanthe a chick flick for sure but not an A list-r in my book. Critics have compared it to the Notebook movie ..again I don't think so.
Of course like the rest or most of the Nation I watched the debate..and thought "ewh"...and I'm not commenting anymore than that.
Saturday:
Went to church heard a great sermon on Revelation 22: 21 "Come Jesus come!"
A special guest speaker whose in the Youth Ministry of our Conference gave the message in such an Spirit filled presentation, a real blessing when concerned with end time events...like I am.
While in the services my mind kept leaping forward to the "boots and bolas" party that my dh and I would be going to and I was having trouble not thinking about what I would make to take for a finger food? This is were God's timing comes in...taking care of even the smallest details...that I don't always pay attention to, I love that about HIM. I remembered about this cute appetizer from A Latte Moment ...check it out very easy and I had everything on hand,YAY God!
So turning my thoughts back to the subject at hand and was truly blessed in the promises that were waiting for me and all of those who choose to "come to HIS invite".
Potluck luncheon afterwards was de-lish I have a really good share I'll post soon I just know you all will love it and it had nothing to do with the layered banana pudding that I made for it ;)
The one thing I love love love about the Sabbath day is the rest God planned in it for man ...receiving both mentally and physically the break that helps us all make it through week to week so after fellowship we finally made our way home for a nap that even the kids all agreed to.
Later in evening dh drove the kids over to the grandparents with their overnight bags *woot woot* as I stayed home to change at least 14 times before wearing the first outfit of my dh choosing.
Still not ready when our friends show up on time to ride out together..yikes! With the shorter then usual dress and a 3min up styled hair, we headed out for an evening of fun; food; fellowship and dancing, lots of dancing!
Oh and the toasted bread cups were a hit as well as the hair thrown up top my head (go figure ;)
It was great to have some "kick your heels up time" as I can tell it always does a world of good for our marriage to bring laughter and time away for it all as often as possible!
Sunday:
10am..yes I got to sleep in! We went out for breakfast before retrieving the clowns.
Back home for a few hours till it's time to get ready for Sara's 40th Birthday tea party where her women friends would gather to dine and where I would eat for my first time "Butternut Squash w/ cheese tortellini...i-yi-yi seriously it was so good that I didn't worry about making a pig out of myself or about the reason why my shorter then usual dress was so snug, I just dove right in for two servings!
You can be sure I'll share the recipe when it's posted as the host is also a bloggette. Yummmmmmmmmmmm doesn't even begin to describe it as I'm thinking it should be illegal it's that good!
So there you go girlfriends that's how awesome a weekend I had and to say the least it nonetheless gets better! Then my dh goes and volunteers to grocery shop tonight, sweet!!!!
Could it be because our alone time "inspired him?" or would it be because yours truly is also having a B~day in three days?
Hmmm..doesn't matter I'll take it either way!
I must STOP typing and go to bed before he gets home and finds me telling you all this stuff ;)
So what did you do this weekend?
Hope you also had a fabulous weekend!
Nighty ~night!

Wow you were busy this weekend! :)
NO PICTURES??? Seriously, with the teaser "boots and bolas party" - you gotta have pictures.
Blessings!
It sounds like you had a great weekend! :)
You were so busy this weekend! Just reading this post I felt like my weekend was a bit boring...dancing! I've never been dancing with a man...well maybe at a teenage dance in high school with a boy, but not as an adult.:(
It sounds like you had just as much fun this weekend as I did! And my dress was a little lower cut than I usually wear, too. And I would like to know more about the banana pudding!
