Sleepy head's out of bed...

It's 9:10 am, I'm not dressed and I haven't addressed anything other then checking my email.

I should be "refreshed" after sleeping in as dh took Bunter in to school this morning saving me a trip and thus allowing me to stay in bed longer. I'm not, instead I'm blah.

Just as I started to post this...Sissy comes in with a box of cereal "can I make my own breakfast?" (see what I mean...I've not done anything except start this post because you guys are easier to take care of...)

If I don't get up to help, there will be very large upsetting mess waiting for me...brb.

I'm back with a cold bowl of LIFE cereal & bananas after helping the kids with their dose of sugary sugar filled cereal that every parent just loves to hate, making sure they got their vitamins and shot of 19 fruits ~MonaVie at least!

(Yes I sell it...and yes that was a unashamedly  infomercial ;0)

Any ways ...I'm going to "keep it real" today by sharing with you...that I'm a slacker (more often then not) when I sleep in at all, which is why this doesn't work for me but against me!

I'm in no way happy about these kinds of mornings...so the point is this:

What works for me...is to beat the "rush hour" by getting up before it happens.

I may not get to sleep in now but there is a hope of lazy mornings after the kids can fend for themselves...and then I'll cry about not being needed?!

Getting up earlier gives me time to prepare/plan how the rest of the day goes while committing myself to what HIS plans may be for me, accomplishing much more then when I don't!

Note to self: YOU KNOW THIS!

That said...I've got to get three of us dressed & groomed, cleanup the after breakfast mess, head to the produce barn, library as well as take the kitten to the vet and before attempting any this commit my plans to the Lord, this is what works for me!

What's works for you?

"I said to the LORD, "You are my Lord;
apart from you I have no good thing."

Psalm 16 :2

I am glad you got to sleep in, sorry you are blah. It is a rainy rainy day here. Good for napping, but I think we will go to the library instead. Hope you have a blessed day! And enjoy your cereal ;)

I love to sleep late, but I do hate the after effects. Its just not the same as when we were teenagers.

Getting up early is key to starting my day. Otherwise, my kids go undressed and unfed while I'm glued to the computer too... not good.

Discipline and routine are key!

I do the same thing...I get up before everyone else to get things in order for the day....if I sleep in, the whole day is thrown off!

My older ones are finally old enough to help with meals, so they rotate making breakfast. Wow, I've been waiting for this!!!

On days that start out blah, and I'm low on motivation, and I'm disappointed in myself for letting "half the day" go by without having quiet time with the Lord, I simply....START OVER. No matter the time of day, I pretend like the alarm just went off. Shower, dress, eat, start laundry, study God's word. It's amazing how quickly I become productive again. It's like no time was wasted. We can always start afresh. :0)
