"I surrender all...all to THEE my Blessed Savior...I surrender all...."
How sweet the melody is that sets the tone to these lyrics, if only the words were easier done than sung.
Often I find myself offering counsel on this subject at hand only later having to "practice what I preached" and at the hardest of times like these:
- bills are due before the next paycheck.
- husbands job is in jeopardy.
- child is in pain/sick/hurting.
- when I want justice!
So often we take charge in situations like these to do something, anything! Not once thinking "I need to SURRENDER!"
Besides "the Lord only helps those who help themselves", right?
News flash: WRONG!
Do I have your attention now?
As a parent do you sit and watch your children suffer because they aren't helping themselves?
Most parents teach by example and when our children fail to follow such instructions we see them "fall".
During those times we practice patience and helping them to their feet and encouraging them to trust us again and again and even again if necessary regardless of the headaches we get from hitting the brick wall so often because we LOVE them ~ drama and all!
Now what your about to read is really a no brainer however learning this requires us to believe the following:
Since God the Father is LOVE
and we are HIS children...
then why shouldn't we always in everything look to His hand
and TRUST Him...
who first LOVED us.
(just for clarification read it again s-l-o-w-l-y)
Now sing it with me again ...
I surrender all~I surrender all~ all to THEE my Blessed Savior ~ I surrender all....

I so needed this today. Thank You!
That is one of my favorite hymns and a great reminder to us all. Thanks for sharing.
So true! We were in a similar boat last week when we thought hubby's job was in trouble. The praying began and two days later, he got a promotion! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!?!
