The kids and I went out this past Friday looking for a place of wet cool refuge and were blessed to have found this!
Most of the Hill Country is experiencing a hot dry summer...so these watering holes are far and few between!
Most are usually located by the side of a country road where one can easily jump off a bridge like this!
Which is what my oldest and his buddy did as soon as the gear shift hit parked.
As you can see the water is not very deep because of the lack of rain however this beautiful area is sustained by a natural spring.
Making it pretty chilly but very clear...the makings of a refreshing dip for everyone!
This spot also had an inviting rope attached to a tree where a sign was posted..."no hunting, no poaching, no fishing..." but it didn't say we couldn't swing so we did!
And as much fun as it was...the water didn't taste that great...
(I am surprised I even caught that!)
Having a picnic we hung around for the remainder of the afternoon. They continued to play while I sat and enjoyed the sights and sounds. We liked it so much we went back out with dad and some more friends yesterday!
No worries...no cares...as I bask in the warmth of HIS love.
"The rocks of the mountains will be their fortress. Food will be supplied to them,
and they will have water in abundance."

Don't you just love the country life? Big city life is not for me.
Looks like a nice place to spend the day.
That looks like a lovely place. The water is so CLEAR!
(sigh). I. Love. It. How do I get there from here?
Wow! So pretty!!!
I may have to drive out to the Hill Country and see if we can't find this spot! Ha! And then shopping in Fredricksburg, of course!
Blessings!

Where, O Where, could this swimming hole be??? Where, O Where could it be? Do tell! (See, I do leave comments...) Please let us know! We want to join the fun!
Looks like a great spot! The kid keep asking to go to the river (in the next small town over from me... hint!), but the only ones I know are not good for the little ones. You must tell RC'sA and me! via email, of course!
Glad y'all are havin' fun!
