Every year in July I'm reminded of the bug
I caught in the Summer of 92'
every weekend there was a rodeo somewhere and team roping was a favorite past time of his, me being his "hottest" fan as i waited on the sidelines make-up melting while breathing in tons of dust for his promised dances afterwards! ![]()
He was starting his career & served in the Air Force Reserves, and I had my senior year left to finish.
as he worked in an aviation hanger, this student was kept hostage in a high school classroom counting the minutes till graduation
I'd get to see him again!
When he had to report for inactive duty (Reserves), I always stayed by the phone waiting for his calls.
the butterfly feelings would always show up each time I saw him.
One night I remember talking for hours by a moonlit lake of plans....his were to marry when he was 25 and not have a child till he was 28.
I remember thinking "I want to be in his plans." I could easily see myself fully committed to him as I was Attracted not only to his apparent good looks but more so to his steadfastness, which told me I could rest assured he would be the same "today as tomorrow".
always enjoying one anothers company & Bunny ears you could hardly separate us.
16 years ago this month, is when I caught the "love bug"
(our song ~ click on it to listen)
Which set in motion the plan of our Dear heavenly fathers, for a future wedding date
(when He turned 25 on Oct. 19th he married yours truly Oct. 21st)
...and then Six years later our first born son arrived in the same month it all started... his daddy was 28.
if I had to do it again...
I wouldn't change
one bit of those plans!
Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

How sweet! I knew just what song too! The rodeo was definitely the thing up here in WA through the 90's, or maybe it was just who I was around. :)
