Monday

something for him..

You know what's right around the corner?

Well in case you forgot it's FATHER'S DAY :)

Yeah, your welcome..time to pick out more frivolous things they don't really need but appreciate being thought of.
Time to figure out which kid will help wrap said gifts and which will make the card and help make that special breakfast for daddy. Or at least this is typical of our household, as we usually can't afford extravagant gifts.

And even if I wanted to do something nice or special for him I would have to plan long before and save save save. Otherwise he would be in on the amounts needed and what nots.
Then it would really wouldn't be so special.

This year however it's turning out a bit different.

I've started praying more specifically..and it's been quite rewarding to say the least.
I'm not feeling pressured or stressed or anything.

Why?

Well only a month ago I prayed for this..

And when I say specifically I mean down to the year, color and price.

Seriously.

And it was my eye that caught it our own small towns car lot, only a day after prayer. No joke.

I texted him and said..I think I found your car.
He had been looking for a commuting car but wanted a sporty one for pleasure. (ahem..well he is 40 after all ;)  Anyways he had been looking for a few months..and he wasn't finding anything affordable and thought maybe he should just get something for necessity.
Yes I like this car, but it wasn't what I wanted..in fact I liked this make least.
So I had no gain in this but I felt a pull to ask God to provide and give him the desires of his heart.

I know it may sound materialistic, however it's really not, let me explain.

Since having children at almost 14 years ago..he has only owned one nice thing for himself..a Buell, it's a Harley speed bike. And it was only because he wanted to help save gas $$$.
This is a pix of him giving our son a ride on it.

Anyways..he has spent years..sacrificing.
Literally.
He's worked hard to provide two beautiful homes.
The first he had built for us.
The second he built from ground up..no help..while also working a full time traveling job.

He has seen our children to church school, camps and vacations.

Every time we get a new SUV..I drive it, and he gets the older one.

When I was ready to stop working full time..he worked harder and still has seen to my needs.

He has worked to serve our family all these years and never asked for anything for himself.
He leads and plans and directs in such a way that helps to give life to us a peaceful balance.

So when I became aware of all this..like really "aware"..I felt impressed to ask for things, specifically for him.

Do you think I'm wrong?
I hope not.
But if you do let me explain how I view the God of Heaven and Earth.

I understand that our GOD is the owner of the storehouses in Heaven. He is creator, He is first and last and He can deal with everything that happens and turn it to good.
Agree?

When his children ask and seek with the right intentions and in good heart, it's my belief there's nothing He wants more to do, then to bless.

Here's more proof that He is blessing our daddy this father's day.

We could not have picked out better. In fact the size for our living room area..has been what's stopped us for the past few years of investing in a newer one.
Our last sectional purchased was 11yrs old and three x's the cost of this one ;)

Just yesterday..we received this.
It's leather,it's got to side recliners that also rock, and the price ROCKED too.
And just last week I wanted to purchase a single leather recliner that looked like this for the same price! I am still reeling at God's goodness in this and how He is answering my prayers!

And in another week he will also be getting a flat screen he's always wanted, but never wanted to spend lots of money on and it's a 50 inch! That's ridiculously big!!

It's a very very good Father's Day here this year..and all I did was pray.

This scripture isn't talking about materials..but I believe it's the Holy Spirit who listen and intercedes to make things happen..so I do understand that HE cares..about everything :)

“So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.”” Luke 11:13 NLT

I'm not in any hurry..but the only other thing that he has wanted for years..and for him to enjoy his family with is a fishing boat. So yeah, that's next ;)

HUG and HOLD and THANK YOUR DADDY'S today and every day!!!
They are a blessing to our families!!!

So, did he get the car?! I'd say it was super cute....but I'm sure that's not the correct manly terminology! :)
