<---- On the far left of this pix is the hunting blind.

From this point back is considered  "sacred ground" during hunting season, the kids are not allowed to run wild up there.

These pix reminded me of a really neat testimony my dh shared with me years back...and why I don't look at hunting season as "widow's season" infact I love this season most of all for this very reason.

 God hears everything..

About five years ago during hunting season my dh was perched in a hunting blind up the hill from our house then, bow in hand, teeth chattering and the feeling to his tush going numb but as he sat none the less he was reflecting on how everything at the time seemed really hard  between work, finances and family and even the simple pleasures in life seemed lacking.

(Sitting in a blind..gives much time for reflection as there's no talking aloud, hence the reason I do not  hunt..I have blogging for that ;)

As he was sitting there in the silence he had the thought  "ask God for His blessing" and right then he did and in doing so he promised he would start spending more time in His Word. He felt sure in receiving the Lord's blessings it would make a difference in His walk, so he asked.

Now this next part seems like fiction..but no sooner then he finished asking the Lord for His blessings... a ten point buck comes walking right out in front of him.

As he pulled back to aim he knew this was from the Lord ..as the arrow went sailing through the woods where it would meet the heart of it's target.

It was a sudden and unexpected shot..that only the Lord would have been able to provide..which is why He did.

It was an opportunity for my dh to know his prayers even thoughts were being considered, this made all the difference to him.

And I the "hunter's wife" am blessed to know that he has sought out HIS blessings and is looking to HIM for help during this season also.

God is with us always, right?! So cool.

Hey, I've been meaning to tell you that Little People now make a toddlers nativity collection...it even plays music!
You do collect these, right?

I might get one for myself. ;)

I remember when he went bow hunting behind the old house. He hit a deer and it ran off.. he wanted us to go look for it but was worried it was in someones yard ! He wasn't sure he could walk up into someones yard and say hey that's my deer...

Neat story! I will remember that next time my hubby leaves me at home with four kiddos to spend the day in the woods! Luckily, the big boys are old enough to start going and "reflecting" with him! ☺

I was once a hunter's wife. Then Hubby just got tired of it. He has made some trips to Arkansas to hunt ducks but he hasn't done even that in a while!

I don't mind a bit!
