Our Pastor and his "friend" asked us to join them for dinner on the River walk in downtown San Antonio.
It's been a long time since a double date, infact, we usually forgo those kinds because the other couple has an argument or there's just to much difference in where to hang out.. but really most ended up badly.
This one would be the exception to the rule..seriously!
No bar scenes = no alcohol = no impaired judgements =
GOOD times!
So the fun began..
Imagine dark water, no railing, music, restaurants lined along this with different aromas of food..yep it's a place waiting for a party.
I was afraid I'd fall in that darkness.
Which why I'm walking behind my date.
It was so dark down there..and I was having a time taking good shots. Here's a messed up one to show a bit of the landscape.
Use your imagination cause these do nothing to help.
A boat ride is offered along with a history lesson of how it all began 50 yrs ago or so..I'm not sure...it was just to cold to find out.
There was this really cool clock tower/elevator.
The rest of the night was a blur, see?
We walked around looking and then our stomachs started to growl.
And because I believe when we first pulled up to park we saw this sign..it sent subliminal message to a few of us..if that wan't enough while walking around the smell of BBQ lured us in..so this was by far not a "romantic date night".
Here's something that would mean nothing to you unless I explained...remember I said "good clean fun".
She's never had beef ribs..ever.
Can you tell? She's wondering what she got herself into..
So brave she pulls her hair back, tucks in her napkin, and gets ready for the ..
all had fun teasing her and she was a real sport about it.
I on the other hand had their delicious smoked peppered turkey (sliced) and some brisket.
I know I was not as adventurous but still I was determined to stay clean.
Afterwards bowling and we girls waged donuts from Krispy Kreme against Ice cream ..we almost won.
By the time the game was over the places were shut so no one got their treat and it would have been donuts, trust me.
Fun was had by all, and I felt blessed to have a night out with our new friends, don't they make a cute couple?
My dh is happy..just in a tired sort of way, can you tell?
So do you like to double date?

That sounds like fun!
We DO like to double date, but not often. We rarely have any time alone, so we usually like to sneak away without anyone we know. :)
love, love, love double dates. Or quadruple dates, or quadruple dates that turn into, let me count... I don't even know how to refer to that in uple or uplet terms, but I think we are 9 couples going out for RIBS and BOND next friday. Can you spell b.l.a.s.t.
